Skilled Migration (Fast Track - E-visa Services)

General Skilled Migration

Skilled migration applicant must have an occupation on the Skilled Occupation List (the “SOL”). An important prerequisite for a visa application is a successful skills assessment carried out by the relevant Australian Assessing Authority.

The skills assessment can be a complex time consuming procedure. The requirement for successful skills assessments vary from assessing body to assessing body.

Recent Work Experience

An applicant for a visa must establish that he or she has recent work experience. The type of work experience depends on the type of occupation.

The points Test.

A point test applies to most skilled applications. Under the Skilled Migration Points Test, points are awarded for:-

  • Skill - Age - English language ability

  • Specific work experience

  • Migration Occupation in Demand - MODL (and job offer)

  • Australian qualifications

  • Spouse skills

  • Relationship (for Skilled – Australian Sponsored only)

The applicant can also be awarded bonus points for either  Australian skilled work experience, or fluency in one of Australia’s major community languages (other than English).

The CRITICAL SKILLED OCCUPATION (the “CSL”)

The Critical Skilled Occupation is a sub-list of the occupation list. It is an attempt by the Australian Government to identify occupations where there are critical shortages in Australia. If your occupation is on this list, your application gets priority processing. Priority processing also will be given to State Sponsored Applications (STNI/SIRV).
